As per section 7 of the CGST act 2017 GST on rent is applicable only in the course of furtherance Busniess

If You have residential property and Give to it for Residential purpose then GST not applicable in residential rental...
In case of You give the Residential Property to Commercial Purpose then GST applicable for the Rent. Also it's added Your GSTIN You must give Tax Invoices for the Rent. Rate of GST @ 18%.
