please clarify every aspect of gst on rent..

If rent received by you & you are registered in GST then you have to charge it & pay to govt...
If you pay rent to some unregistered person then you have to pay tax on such rent under RCM.

No need to pay GST if amt is less than Rs.5000/-
its depend on you if rent is related with residential plot then gst tax free but rent is related with corporate then gst charged on rent amount is 18% if they not charge then tax amount paid under RCM by rent payer to gst department and claim input.

One more thing i want to add that rent for residential dwelling is exemptex.
as per govt below 20 lac turnover people no need to registration but they pay rent on his commercial land.

now my question is if landowner not charge gst on rent so business man liable to pay rcm or not if the govt. give him a relaxation
If any peraon ia unregistered then he is not required to pay GST under RCM as GST Act not applicable to him.
hostel acomodation comes under house rent or business

its a business rashmi but hostel is registered as a residential plot not commercial then
ma'am whether 20 lac limit is for only rental income or any type of his turnover.
turnover means sales rent recieved all other business income
