Hai experts,

Good morning,

I am from a animal feed industry, we are purchasing various raw materials, based on the formula provided by the veterinary doctors and producing nutrition balanced animal feed for poultry and cattle farms.

as a ingredients we are purchasing "poultry oil" which is produced by cooking and extracted from chick waste.

Poultry oil is an ingredient which will be used as feed supplement in production of neutrinos balanced animal feed, this oil can not be consumed for any general purpose, this is exclusively for feed supplement only.

but one of our supplier from Kerala, not ready to accept to supply this product under HSN 2309 with 0% GST, they are billing it as poultry fat with 12% GST, as per instruction of their state GST officer.

kindly check and confirm the legal provisions in this regard to proceed further.

Hi,

as you are extracting this from chick waste according to me it might fall in the category of fat

Rates (%) Products Descripttion HSN Codes Export and Import HSN Codes
12% Pig fats (including lard) and poultry fat, other than that of heading 0209 or 1503. 1501 15011000, 15012000, 15019000

Thank you sir,

though the product is exclusively used as supplement, we can not treat it as animal feed supplement under the HSN 2309??
