GST late fees still showing even filing NIL Return

I need help from professionals.

As per recent Govt announcement - There is no late fees for Nil GST 3B Return (wef July 17 to Jan 2020). So, I am filing Nil GSTR 3B return for September 2018. But system is showing late fees as I generated late fees challan in 2018 but did not pay.

Now, I wish to continue my GST return filing without paying the GST late fees.

Please suggest,

Refresh the page or login again any try or try to file it after few days. If even after that the portal shows late fees, then contact GST Help desk...

challan will be valid for fifteen days only after its generation, than it's got invalid.

Dear Banik,

You have to make the payment of late fees as appearing on the window for that month. From next succeeding month, you can file NIL returns or Taxable returns by availing no late fees or by paying Rs. 500 as late fees. I have experienced the same and contacted GST help desk for assistance. The above information is provided by them from the help desk. Also, Kindly note that the amount of late fees paid for that month initially shall not be refunded or credited or returned. There is nothing in refreshing the page or logging in or out.
