Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies how cafes can claim Goods and Services Tax (GST) Input Tax Credit (ITC). Generally, cafes charging 18% GST are eligible for ITC, while those charging 5% are not. ITC can be claimed on items directly related to the business, such as coffee beans, provided they are reflected in GSTR 2B and other conditions are met. Businesses under the composition scheme cannot claim ITC.

As per my opinion , restaurants and cafes that charge 18% GST are eligible for ITC benefits. However, those charging 5% GST on food services not allowed ITC benefits. Additionally, cafes can claim input tax credits only for items that are directly related to the furtherance of their business.

Suppose I have purchased coffee beans can I take ITC FOR THAT INVOICE.

Yes,but shown in GSTR 2B

Yes it showing.

Alright, then proceed to accept input if all other conditions are met.

Return file composition scheme no benefit of itc
