Is GST needed for section 8 non profit company?

Notification no. 12/2017 exempts services provided by way of charitable activities from whole GST. exemption, however, is only provided if: there's an advancement of religion, yoga or spirituality, if it relates to public health by way of care or counselling etc., if there's an advancement of educational programmes or skill developement relating to prisoners, abandoned or homeless children etc.

So we're exempt, as we're providing scholarships and skill training in rural communities. My question is do we still need GSTIN number?
