GST Annual Return

If taxpayer Annual Turnover consistent Around 1200000. and GST every month paid GST . can compulsory Annual GST Return file.?

As per Notification No. 47/2019 - Central Tax, dated 09th October 2019 read with Circular No. 124/43/2019 - GST, dated 18th November 2019, Filing of GST Annual Return (FORM GSTR-9 ) for FY 2017-18 & FY 2018-19 has been made "OPTIONAL" for the Taxpayers having Aggregate Turnover upto Rs. 2 crores.

It is Mandatory only for those Taxpayers whose Aggregate Turnover exceeds Rs. 2 crores for the said Financial Years.

For FY 2019-20, No such relaxation have been provided from the Government with regard to filing GSTR-9.

Based on your facts you are not required to file Annual Return for FY 2017-18 & FY 2018-19.

The GST council in its 37th meeting announced that under section 148, GST annual return is not mandatory for small businesses with a turnover of less than Rs. 2 Crores. Filing of GSTR9 for taxpayers whose aggregate turnover doesnot exceed Rs 2 Crores is not mandatory for the F. Y 2017-28 and 2019-19.

No ..not mandatory require to furnish GSTR 9 , it's optional.

Note : In my view if there is any variances in Filing returns with book data, then the explanation of such differences can be reported Annual Return, because your data will be final on basis of return furnished by you.
