Got a tax demand of 2.2k

A.Y. 2008-2009 returns were processed by local income tax officer.

Hence you need to visit the local income tax officer and communicate this to him.

He will give you system generated intimation showing demand of 2235/-

U should visit with a letter for rectification u/s 154 for giving credit of tax paid and tds certificate.

attach a copy of tds certificate and challans this will save your time and no of visits try to get this demand rectified.

During that period i have filed in chennai. currently i am in bangalore, can i get the detials from CPC bangalore or i need to visit chennai office for this.

i have not transferred the PAN from bangalore to chennai. i got transferred to bangalore before two years only. until i had filed my returns in chennai office.

whether i need to explain them with all my proofs with teh rectification request? how many times we need to visit them for clearing this 2K??

no of visit depends on the wins and fancies of income tax officer, it could take only one visit if he is co-operative else the no of visit can be many.......
