I had registered to the CA Final course in 2013. I was eligible to appear in Nov 14, but due to my family problems, I haven't been able to give the Final exams till date. At that time there was only one GMCS course, there was no GMCS I or II. I thought, since I am an old student the new GMCS won't apply to me and I can take the old GMCS course after I'm done with the exams. Since my attempts have been getting delayed, I'm worried if the old GMCS course is available also or not. Am I now supposed to take the new GMCS course? If yes, is it GMCS II? I'm very confused, please help.

ICAI vide announcement dated 01.04.2014, had discontinued old GMCS Course w.e.f. 01.04.2014 and said that students who had registered for articleship on/before 30.04.2012 needed to do GMCS –II course only before applying for membership. https://bit.ly/29h7bP4
Now, recently vide announcement dated 14.06.2016, ICAI has revised the new GMCS course structure. GMCS-I has been merged with Orientation Course and GMCS-II has been renamed as GMCS only w.e.f. 01.07.2016. https://bit.ly/29f3AVV
So, being an articled student of before 30.04.2012, you need to do GMCS (earlier known as GMCS-II) course before applying for membership.
