Thanks for your response, the number of accountants needed in an organization, especially with accounting softwares around, has drastically come down now it self,  6 years down the line do you think it would spike, more over I'm looking if there are any other avenues that could open up to make CA an attractive option?

It never came down. only accountants know how to operate accounting software sir. it maybe made by software engineers but they do it only with conceptual guidance of accountants. besides,wat goes up must come down n vice versa.
IT industry was lost a few years back....now they're back.
CA profession never dwindled n it will never dwindle in future.

It is good that u r thinking for your son's future..future for CA is  F3
