Freight receipt

a registered work contractor who received freight income of his dumpers and machinery(jcb) is taxable or not?
Replies (1)
  • If incidental to your contract: It is part of your works contract and is taxed at the principal supply rate (usually 18%).

  • If billed as a separate GTA service: You can opt to pay 5% (no ITC) or 18% (with ITC) under Forward Charge, or let the recipient pay 5% under Reverse Charge (if they are a registered business).
