If someone (i dont know the person) e-file my return and tax liabilities arise, then what shoul i do.

For E-file ITR the person should have...Your PAN, Your Name, Your Father's Name, Your DOB.
How the person you dont know will know all above details ???

Yes, Nitin Sir this is inherent problem ....even e-filling is not safe
For example- A person can hack e-filling a/c of a company...because he can get the PAN from judicial decisons or any other source....Date of incorporation can be obtained from mca website...so what else he is required. He/she can can immediately reset password and thereby can hack e-filling a/c of any company....and company may not even come to know that its return has been already filled.....I think that there must be some access restriction on ROC website so that a person may not see incorp date and not the DOB and DIN of directors.

The dept. wants to belittle those who want to file their returns without visiting their offices. Otherwise for registering TAN you can have a user ID different from TAN.
then why the dept. not provide same facility to PAN holders. Why they want the user ID should be the PAN No. and not anything different from PAN.
As already expressed the PAN card has to be given at every place and these details are available to anybody and everybody. We know without the knowledge of PAN holders how many have activated their accounts and the real PAN holders do not have password to e-file their returns.

Thnx for all replies,but I have received an Intimation U/s 143(1) for payment of tax. the I came to know the matter of e-filing my return. I immediately talked with IT dept, they informed me that you cant file revised return as the assessment has been done. You should not changed GTI. You have to pay the tax. So pls advice how can get rid of this. Because the tax amt is huge.

I think you can file case with the police Dept. (under intimation to Income Tax Dpt. ) immediately.
But before that make sure that you have not filed. If it is not truly done by you then the police will / can let you know who your Klose friends are.
(The dept. is right in its argument - no argument with the staff)

You can download the ITR V of the said return filed from the income tax efiling site. It has the IP address from which the said return was uploaded. You can trace from the IP address who filed that return using the help of cyber cell.

The below is the extraction of the software you referred to. Does the facility of filing without logging on to the Dept. site - means enabling somebody to file our return without our (password) knowledge.
Is n't it.....!
