What's the purpose of Form 27D under Income Tax Act??

Form 27D is a certificate for Tax Collected at Source (TCS) u/s 206 of Income Tax Act, 1961.
To claim TCS credit in ITR, this is required. However the same TCS entry will appear in 26AS
