Form 16 issue

I was unwell for around 3 months from Dec'19 to Mar'19.I quit the company in Mar'19.During this period salary was paid to me.

But this amount was recovered from me in Jul'19.After recovering the amount the form 16 which was given did not mention the recovery amount and i was taxed on the overall salary.The actual amount post recover is much lesser but does not reflect in form 16.

How should i file my ITR such that i do not have to bear the unnecessary tax burden.

Get Revised form 16 after getting the TDS return rectification from the employer.

Thanks for your response.I am trying to get that from my employer but they are suggesting that they would issue a form 16 next year(Jul'20) and would mention in that recovery amount as a tax rebate since recovery was done in this financial year(Jul'19).

To an extent they are correct. If you are going to get benefit in current financial year, you will not be at any loss.

Now they say they cannot issue Form 16 in Jul'20 as i quit the organization in Mar'19.As there is no income in Fy'20 form 16 cannot be issued.How do i get refund for the excess tax paid due to salary recovery that happened this Jul'19.

Unless for 16 is rectified, you cannot get difference amount from CPC.

I have been trying to get the revised form 16 from them.They keep telling me since salary recovery happened in Jul'19 form 16 cannot be revised as form 16 was generated for income received till Mar'19.Do employers revise form 16?Will they do it for a single employee?
