Form 16 filing

Hi. A friend of mine received a salary lesser than the required tax bracket. Hence the organisation did not do an e-filing of form 16 and is giving a manually filled form 16. Is that acceptable as a proof for future employment?

Even though tds is not deducted then also deductors have to furnish salary details of all employees and issue form 16 part b from tds portal. but I have so many companies not following this process and issue manual form 16 part B. and correspondingly others companies accept this practice provided round stamp of company issuing is affixed on form 16

If the employee’s salary was below the taxable limit and no TDS was deducted, the employer is not mandatorily required to issue a digitally generated Form 16. In such cases, a manually issued Form 16 or salary certificate on company letterhead is generally acceptable.

For future employment verification, salary slips, bank statements, appointment letter, experience letter, and ITR acknowledgement (if applicable) are usually considered sufficient supporting documents. - Setindiabiz
