Can a person file his ITR when no form16 is provided by the employer? what are the formalities ?

Yes every person can file its return of income. Form 16 as per I T Act has to be issued only when some one has the taxable inocme. Fo9r 16 is a certificate. For NIL a certificate can not be issued. In lieu of Form 16 the person shopuld arrange a salary certificate form the employer and on the same basis he can file his return . :P

Formalities:
- Display income accurately under the head of salary
- Claim income tax deductions and exemptions, if appropriate
- E-file the online return and verify it within the specified time
- Using salary slips, bank statements, and the 26AS Form to calculate salary and TDS
