Form 108 completion

During my articleship I had worked for a period of 7 months under one CA Principal and the balance under another CA principal. My first CA Principal had shown that the article has taken zero days leave for the first 7 months. What is the maximum number of leaves that i can apply under form 108 during articleship completion.

Form 108 is used to apply for leave during articleship. According to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) regulations, an articled assistant is entitled to: -

1 day of leave for every 20 days of service, up to a maximum of 12 days in a year.

Since you worked for 7 months (approximately 210 days) under your first CA Principal, you would be eligible for: - 210 days / 20 = 10.5 days of leave (approximate) As your first CA Principal has shown zero days leave, you can apply for the entire 10.5 days of leave in Form 108.

However, please note that: - You should have actually worked for the entire period to be eligible for leave. -

Leave cannot be carried forward to the next year. -

Your second CA Principal may have their own leave policy, so you should check with them separately.
