Forgot to add challan number in ITR AY 2021-22

One of my acquaintance paid 6480Rs as self assessment tax in AY21-22 but probably forgot to add challan number before filing ITR. He got notice to pay outstanding dues around 8k(with interest). How to rectify this mistake?
