Forgot other bank account details

Hello,

I recently filed ITR-4S for AY15-16, all the  financial details were filed correctly but I didnt mention my other savings bank accounts (3 accounts). I am eligible for rebate  and have metioned only one bank account. Also the pin code  in my return is wrong.

I havent posted ITR-V yet.

Can I refile my ITR-4S along with all other bank accounts and ignore the earlier filed one?

Thank you.

You can file a revised return, just for pincode you can login n choose optio "Correct ITR Particlulars option."

In case I file revised return will this return will be a fresh return and the current filed will be scrapped?

It wont be a orignal return , it will be a revised return to be filed u/s 139(5).

It will substitute the orignal return, if its the saving bank details then do mention the interest also (receipt basis) and simultaneously you may claim deduction u/s 80TTA for upto Rs. 10,000 on such interest.

Tax dept. can send notice for non disclosure of saving bank interest.

In the same envelope you can send both the ITR-V

Try the new method (EVC) via Adhaar card linking, you wont need to send ITR-V then.

dont worry raja ......if u mention total  saving interest in ITR then don t revise return its not big mistake.....

Will advise not to change your return. As you may find some major problem also in future, then you won't be able to revise it again.

Even if you find any problem in fututre, you will still be able to revise it within time limit of 139(5)

You can file it any no. of time, there is no restriction.
I insist that return must be revised there is no adverse effect if you do so (but there might be if you don't) , why to live in tension?

Rest is upto you.

Thank you for your replies.

The account which I havent metioned are sudry accounts, not having more than 5000/- at anytime in last 2 years.

The other one not mentioned is my salary account where also I havent earned interest more than 10000/-. Is it a big issue even then?

May I know why do you want to break the law & furnish inaccurate or incomplete particulars , which is an offence under the income tax act ? Since most bank a/cs are linked to PAN the tax department can know as to whether you have made the correct declaration or not. I was also under impression that they wont go in for a trivial sum , but to my surprise I saw a notice wherein assesse did not declared income from saving bank (& the amount was not high) . Not declaring the account in which you receive salary ,is certainly wrong.

Its not a matter of your choice, you have to declare correct facts, small balance or not does not matter. Later f notice comes, your such explainations will not find any ground.
