Forget income tax password

One of my friend had set password couple of years ago but didn't activate link , now he forget the password. How can he now reset the password? because when we go to forget password it ask us to update link and if we try to resend link it ask for password.

Fill the Rs. 10 challan den wait for 5 days for updation on N.S.D.L. den change the password by option OTP

In your case the link is not activated so you cannot use forgot password option. You have to call the efiling helipline 1800 4250 0025 / +91 80 2650 0025 and ask then to send the link again. This has to be done by the PAN holder as they will ask certain questions to ascertain that. Then they might ask you to send an an email to them at validate @ incometax.gov.in
