Foreign direct investment

Dear  Friends one of my Client has approached me regarding FDI. If any of our friends has already taken up the same assignment please guide me w.r.t the provisions of the same. To be more precise my Client is a Proprietorship Concern and one of his business associate a Foreign National wants to invest funds into his business in India.  For this client has to give a proposal to the said Foreign National. Please guide me how to start with the assignment
