For purpose of pan, is llp a firm or a company?

LLP 2023 views 6 replies

Hi Friends,

While applying for PAN for a LLP, should the application be under category of "Firm" or a "Company"?

One has to select this category while applying for PAN, and LLP is a hi-breed between partnership firms and a company hence my query.

In general, is LLP to be treated as Firm or a Company?

Thanks

Manish

it is treated as firm...

In PAN form a company means a company registered under the Companies Act,1956.  Since an LLP is not registered, it will be under the category of firms.  Agreed with Sanket.

What you Both are taking about LLP is a registered as a Company and not as a Firm!!!! It is registerd under the companies act 2008

You have to select category of " Artificial Juridical Body"

Hi Manish, LLP is a Body Corporate as per definition of Limited Liability Partnership  ,2008

agreed with cs vidhya
