Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies whether Work-In-Progress (WIP) units are included in the 'material consumed' section of a cost sheet, particularly for new businesses. The consensus is that WIP is indeed included. The explanation details how to calculate the amount of WIP consumed by comparing opening and closing balances, effectively adding opening WIP and subtracting closing WIP from the works cost.

Yes WIP is included in material consumed.

The amount of work-in-progress consumed (or in excess) is excess of opening balance of work-in-progress over closing work-in-progress (i.e., opening work-in-progress should be added and closing work-in- progress should be subtracted from the works cost).

is there is any specific formula/ tricks to remember that??

could u post a problem with a solution???
