Hi guys,

Pl advice which books to be followed for final group - II to clear november -14 exam. Currently im using Vineeth sodhani for IDT. I am planning to buy padhuka's Saravanaprasath book for costing and G. sekar book for DT. Since im working and office timing till 7.30 pm, i dont have much time for my preparation. Hence pl suggest which books to follow to clear and to be frank i dont have time to refer institute material, scanner. I have passed first group 4 years back and struggling to clear group - 2.

Thanks in advance

Struggling to clear both groups :(

Dear sakthi,

I suggest If you have read already once from the books purchased by you go ahead with the same books unless your comfortable with it. (to being comfortable it requires minimum 3 times revision )

I cleared 2nd group with the same books which you have purchased except DT I used Manoharan Sir book. But I have seen G Shekar also its equally same as with that of Manoharan's book

For ISCA you better try to make notes from Institute material with Captional heading

For Costing Concentrate on QT First and costing theroy next .

Flow of Chapters in Costing and DT :

Relevant costing, ABC Anaylsis , Materials , Budgeting , Decision Make or buy, following with rest of topics

For Direct taxes : Cap Budgeting , IFOS, NRI, TDS , RTP caselaws, ammendments, Business and then remaining  topics (At revision time try to read the sections also to understand the concepts clear )

Wishing you the best of luck for your future

Regards

Abhi

A hint from someone who chose wrong books initially. Get ALL the Paduka Books. And chose others only when the Paduka is not available. Read each book atleast 3-4 times. Use summaries that you'l find on the files section of this forum for short notes.

Given time constraint, for costing and QT please buy JB Gupta with Practice Manual. ISCA Manish Valecha is MORE than suffice. DT paduka is good if you find time to read it. Else, Bangar with PM should be fine.

Costing - JB gupta (ultimate book for self study and concepts

ISCA - Manish Valechha (best seller for ISCA, no need to waste time in study mat.. all study tips are given in the book.)

DT - Vinod Gupta is best for Self Study (T N Manoharan is also good)

IDT - Vineet sodhani (N S Govindan for concepts)

Let me tell you... Study Institute Material for AMA, ISCA... DT - TN Manoharan IDT - BANGAR However, you have to definetly practice each and every question of AMA, DT and IDT from Practice Manual of ICAI. Practice manual is a MUST !!

Costing: Sanjay Agarwal Sir

Isca: Dinesh Madan

DT: Vinod gupta

IDT: Dipak Gupta

deepak gupta books best for u dear for idt

You can refer Padhuka's books for AMA, ISCA & IDT. For DT pl refer Mr.Manoharan's book. For DT and IDT pl take Recent Case Laws material released by the Institute in Feb. every year. Because for DT/IDT Case Law part is very important.

DT Case Law     - 10 to 20 Marks

IDT CAse Law    - 15 to 20 Marks.

This contributes your major portion of Marks.

LOL.. I find all this really funny and fasinating.. Now i seriously don't know which books he's going to refer.. All of you have given him such a wude variety.. lol.. See, the logic is very clear, irrespective of the book you have you need to put in your efforts.. and mind you that works no excuse.. Study frim the book ur allready studying from and become good in what is there in it..If you master that bit than i don't know how an X / Y / Z author would be more helpful.. If books worked magic like your expecting, then everyone would have cleared using those specific books.. To cut it short, my advice is you study with what your allready studying with, don't experiment and be good in what you study..
