is it about deduction under 80GG
or
Exemption under section 10 i.e. HRA

thanks a lot Dinesh Mertiyaji...

it is about 80gg.

I am self employed and have not received any rental benefits like HRA,nor have taken any money from my business towards the same.

I (along with my wife and chilren) stay in a rented accomodation, for which I paid annual rental of 188K from my personal account. also my wife is filing her income tax, where she owns a commercial property, in the same city, which has been vacant for over two years now, earning no rental income. But as her ITR-2 form offers no option for VACANT property, She is required to declare that as self occupied property.

Now in the first column [Deductions under Chapter VI A(Section) in form ITR-4] should I enter 188,000 (the actual rent paid or 24,000. (the 2nd column automatically returns 24,000, the eligibility.

What are the implications for me and how do I fill/ file the forms.

and also where do I file 10ba declaration.

thanks in advance
