I would be really grateful if someone could answer this query.
I am filling ITR-1 for my mother, she is a housewife and is receiving Family Pension from the State Government after my father passed away.That along with interest on FDs is her main source of income.
Now when I am filling her ITR what shall be her Employer Category?Gov/others or not applicable?
Further please confirm if Family Pension shall be included under income from other sources and not Salary.

Family pension shall be shown under income from other source and exemption shall be available for the same as under
Uncommuted pension received by a family member is exempt to a certain extent. Rs 15,000 or 1/3rd of the uncommuted pension received -whichever is less is exempt from tax.
The regular pensioners are required to enter their total annual pension in ITR1 in the Salary Row and not in the row 'Income from Other Sources'.
Are rules different for Family Pension where such pension in hands of the family dependent shall be treated 'Income from Other Sources'?
