Filing Showing Defective Status!

Hi Friends, I logged into the ITR portal to check what my CA has been doing all these years and I found that Filing Status is shown as Defective. When I looked into the details, it showed --

21/07/2016 ITR Filed

01/08/2016 ITRV Received

30/10/2016 ITR Filed is defective/incomplete

Rectification/Response to Defective notice u/s 139(9) for the above filing

24/11/2016 ITR Processed

Is the issue resolved? If yes then why is the listing table still showing Status as Defective?

I think original (initial) return was defective which has subsequently been rectified and thereafter ITR is processed. Problem resolved.

Okay but will the filing list continue to show Defective?

Status displays stepwise process. When you click on the link for the year, the last one is the latest status. If that shows ITR processed, it means no problem.

No problem as Rectification return u/s 139(9) has been filed so there will be no problem.
ITR processed and it will be displayed after due time that your return is approved by Authority

Any defective return will be accompanied by a notice.

Do not worry. Last one log is ITR processed. That is important and latest status.
