my client gross salary is 350000 after HRA deduction it is 248000 ...so he needs to file return of not?

But his gross total income is more than basic exemption limit?? Then what is the reason of not filing return

Agreed with Mr RAJA. Gross total income is arrived after HRA exemption.

After the HRA deduction he ll be get above 2.5lakhs then he ll be file his return....

Also he get any other deductions like Chapter VI A... and after deductions he get less than 2.5lakhs then no need....

No, If gross total income before providing deductions under chapter VIA exceeds Rs 250000 than he is needed to file return, irrispective of the fact that after providing deductions under chapter VIA his income is below 250000
