Can somebody please help me to file ITR 4? In Goa, system of Community of property is prevalent, as per which income of the assessee (except salary income) is shared in equal proportion by the spouse. I have downloaded ITR 4 excel utility from www.incometaxindiaeflining.gov.in site. But it does not show the provision where I can show half income of spouse. Please help.
provision for sharing of income as stated by you is not there in IT Act hence, it can't be shared as such.
As per section 5A of Income Tax Act, 1961apportionment of income between spouses is allowed under Portuguese Civil Code. The assessee should be married (registered marriage) under Portugues Civil Code.
ok, i got it, but unable to understand ur query, you need to use 2 seperate ITR form and can fill up with relevant income details as both will be assessed seperately.
