Filing it returns

a) I want to know the Information, what needs to fill for Income from other sources. Is it enough if we enter just the interest we got from Form 26AS.

b) Once filed the returns, with out entering the Income from other sources, how to modify or rectify It.

c) If Income from other sources need to include FD and Savings Interest, than how to know the interest amount we got which is not mentioned in Form 26AS.

just make sure that interest shown in 26AS is close to the expected . if you have an FD at 8%, then a reasonable assessment of accrued interest should suffice .

a) See online all bank accounts -savings bank interest entries should be added. Take it on income side. Deduction of this  upto 10000 is allowed under 80TTA.

b) See all FDs interest  Cos, Banks  NCD etc and take in income side even though not appearing in 26AS

c) Either see ur passbook or see it online if u have net banking.

TRACES Form 26As reports TDS deducted & remitted reasonably in Time (as late penalty imposed on deductor ). But sometimes Form 26AS reports very late/ omits 15G applied FD interest income. issue arises if actual FD interest + SB interest is more than what is shown in Form 26AS....so just filing with what is reported in 26AS may lead to complication if more info surfaces (later after ITR filing) in 26as via late filing by Banks....

Hi Kevin,

You mean just to fill the amount in Form 26As or all FD's Interest in all Banks even which is not mentioned in 26As  + Savings Interest.

You need to take all the interests from all sources even though it is not appearing in 26AS.

In deduction u/s 80   [80TTA] put all the savings bank interest. Upto 10k it is tax free.
