For the A.Y. 2012-13, i paid income tax via e-payment from the website incometaxindia.gov.in on 30th aug 2012.However, i failed to pay the interest component for late filing of tax return. Now there is a difference in the challan amount and ITR-V. For this reason, the status is shown as return uploaded. it is not processed yet. how can i rectify this? whether i shall pay interest for interest. if so how shall i pay and what amount? Please help...
Dear Revathi,
that's not the only reason for it showing as return uploaded... might be your ITR is not processed yet. You will get 142(1) intimation and challan to pay the remaining amount (if it exceeds Rs. 100).. otherwise, your ITR would be accepted...
And as you can't revise your ITR... because it's belated ITR for you... so, better wait for Sec. 142(1) intimation...
