One of My friend got an exempt in tax as he scored 61.
Is it enough if he takes 139 for him to clear d first group or he has to take 150 to clear

Yes, of course if he gets 139 marks that will be enough. However, HE SHOULD NOTGET BELOW 40MARKS IN ANY SUBJECT.
Yes he need only 139 marks to clear group subject to minimum of 40 in each remaning subject.
