Dear All

Please clarify one of my client who is providing consulting engineer service and also in reciept of residential House rent in excess of Rs.20 lac. Suppose his monthly gst out put  tax is 200000 and gst input tax is 100000/- . Is he is required to reduce input tax in proportion to residential house rent being exempt service but to be included in gross provided services. since no bifurcation of service category like in service tax  is applicable in gst

Residential rent income is exempted under GST. No need include the Rent income to the ceiling limit...

If he is registered under GST then he ll be calculate and pay the Tax as per transactions. No need calculate the rental income...
