did i followed correct approach for refund ?
as its been more than 15 days since reprocessing request and im not even sure if i will receive refund or not.
kindly suggest appropriate action
is my course of action correct and how long reprocessing takes?

Quick Summary
A taxpayer mistakenly paid tax under the wrong minor head and missed the challan correction window, leading to a double tax payment. They filed a rectification request under reprocessing, but are concerned about the delay and the process. Advice is sought on whether their approach is correct, how long reprocessing typically takes, and whether the department will correct it automatically.

You have to select the option ( Tax payer is correcting the data ) upload the rectified JSON

It may not happen from IT portal.
You may need to visit nearest tax advisors for rectified JSON after entering the details of both challans

If i wait, wouldn't it be corrected from income tax department side itself?

No. Adding challans in rectified ITR may not happen automatically from department.

Department may process the ITR with demand
