Acording to the latest slab rates such as:-

The formula can be calculates as: =IF(AND(T15>=12000,T15<18000),120,IF(AND(T15>=18000,T15<30000),180,IF(AND(T15>=30000,T15<45000),300,IF(AND(T15>=45000,T15<60000),450,IF(AND(T15>=60000,T15<75000),600,IF(AND(T15>=75000,T15<100000),750,IF(AND(T15>=100000,T15<125000),1000,IF(T15>=125000,1250,0))))))))

Where T15 stands for Total half yearly salary

Also pointing out the fact that salary = ( Basic+DA+All alowances+ Leaves surendered - LOP - Professional tax collected by Employer)  and excludes any amount paid to Provident fund, ESI, and Labour welfare. Further pointing out the fact that Half yearly payment of tax is calculated on the basis of 3 month actual salary and 3 month approx salary, ie; On the Month of july where the tax is paid, April, May, June will have actual salaries paid and July, August , September will be approximated with the salary drawn on June. (April+May+ 4x June)

Due date for payment is July and January of every year.
