As per section 194-IA of Income Tax Act 1961, with effect from 1st June, 2013 (Assessment Year 2014-15) there will be now a tax deduction at source (TDS) on transfer of immovable property other than agricultural land if the sale consideration is Rs. fifty lakhs or more.
The TDS to be deposited under section 194-IA shall be accompanied by a challan-cum-statement in Form 26QB.
