Ask recepient to cancel E-way bill .
At recepient end it can be cancel within 72hr

Not possible because of time expiry of Eway bill.
Raise credit note for that.

Just think that you dispatched it and again goods returned to you.

Yes you can cancel the invoice when goods were not delivered

Pankaj sir. If bill cancelled, then mismatch with eway bill may arise.

can explain by making reconciliation that the goods was not delivered

I don't think department accept it because they had given option to cancel with 24 hours. The party has failed to do so.
Department does not accept excuses. They may assess the evadsion of tax.

How can we explain that goods is not delivered. How will we convince them.
