Error in RPU

Hello every one

In RPU 5.0 Annexure II(Salary details) in column 93 115BAC(1A), I have selected "Yes" and I entered the housing loan interest in negative amount (-150000) at column 15 and tried to create the file but get a error message "Income chargeable should not be negative" Please let me know how to enter the housing loan interest in Annexure II for FY 2023-24

Quick Summary
Users are experiencing issues with RPU software versions 5.0 and 5.1, particularly concerning the entry of negative housing loan interest and standard deductions. The primary problem arises when selecting 'Yes' for Section 115BAC, which prevents negative entries for housing loan interest and disables 80C deductions. While RPU 5.1 was expected to fix these glitches, users report the issues persist, causing difficulties in filing tax returns and correction statements. Discussions suggest workarounds and await further software updates.

Yes

Problem with standard deduction also

Technical issue in RPU 5.0. need to wait for new RPU 5.1

The problem is still stand n new RPU 5.1 also, the income chargeble in home loan interest is shound not be negative amount

this is normal in the early versions every year. Do not bother filing your tax returns at this time unless you really need it.

All technical issues rectified in new RPU 5.1.  Home loan interest negative value issue also resolved.

New RPU 5.1 has same problem and message for home loan interest should not be negative. 80c deduction also deleted when try to validation.

If you will select "YES" in the field no, 93 of Sec 115BAC / 115BAC (1A), you will be able to punch negative value in home loan interest amount and the values in field of 80C and all other deductions.

If you select "NO" in filed 93, you'll not be allowed to punch negative values and field of 80C will turn to be un-editable, and if you've punched any values in 80C earlier, same will disappear.

But Priyanka Madam, if we select yes than the assessee is opting for new regime & than he will not get any 80c deductions.

Please clarify

Exactly now the confusion is: the field says “ whether opting for sec 115BAC Or whether Opting out of sec 115BAC (1A)

if we answer “yes” : It’s a yes to both, and

if we answer “no” : it’s a no to both

but the question are contradicting.

Hi Priyanka Madam,

In total taxable income, medical premium under sec 80d is not getting deducted but it is showing in total amount dedcutibel under chapter VI A.

PLease guide
