I have a party who has service tax no. starting with TAN instead of PAN.
i.e. XXXXnnnnnXSTnnn
While preparing ST-3 for April to June 2012 in excel utility, i found an error that STC code is not in correct format.
There should be 5th character alphabatic and not numaric.
I can't resolve this error. Please help me out.
As the return is not available in online mode and in offline mode i have above error, i am not able file return.

Service Tax No always starts with TAN and not PAN. I have never heared of Service Tax No starting with TAN. You need to check it again.
