Error in itr 3 (java utility)

Dear Experts,

While filing ITR 3 using Java Utility for AY 2019-20, I am getting the following validation error as soon as I click on the Save Button - " Please Select an Option from Drop Down List "

When I click on error message, my Java Utility gets closed automatically without saving as draft. I suppose it should get me to the screen which is the source of the error as soon as I click on the error.

Can anybody please help me with the option that I am missing to select.

see in tti tab....whether any foreign bank ac held...select yes or no....

and check in schedule cg also.....

Thanks for the reply. But this does not work. I could not find any such missing drop down menu. Is there any other details that causes this validation error message?

where does that leave us - how can we file returns on time without issues being fixed quickly

The frustration starts when you fill the Excel utility completely giving your full 2 hrs for just one return and at the end it gives visual basic error . And then you switch to Java utility and Java utility gives a vague error and also do not redirectto the tab where actually the drop down need to be filled ...

In the general information tab re enter the assessee address and also reselect the country India ... This might solve your problem ..

The error of drop down menu is in part B TTI table 14 "do you at any time....". It is a mandatory field which is overlooked. Please check.

This has solved the country code problem, thanks a lot. Have to sort out the Select section error yet.

ITR-3 Java utility for AY 2019-20 has many bugs. I reported one bug last week to helpdesk, which is exactly where the thread has started.

I found that the drop down selection for claiming mediclaim premium deduction is not saved in the final.X M L. On selecting the drop down, I got zero errors and was able to save final.X M L but when I reload same zero error X M L and recalculate, i get the error same drop down not selected in VI-A. Tax calculated does not take into account the mediclaim deduction. Unable to file return due to this as there is no work around for this bug.

Fortunately the date has been extended by 1 month. Hope new version of ITR-3 java utility is made available without this and other bugs.

As a plan B, I have started populating ITR-3 Excel version. Can some one confirm that the ITR3-excel has no bugs?
