Empanelment as a Peer Review with the Peer Review Board, ICAI

Dear Member,

Empanelment as a reviewer and be a part of the Institute’s esteemed panel of reviewers which carry out the review assignments of ICAI members in pursuance of “Statement on Peer Review”

.

A member needs to satisfy following conditions only to become a peer reviewer:-

1.     Possess at least 10 years experience of audit and also be currently active in the practice.

2.     Attend one-day training programme for Peer Reviewers conducted by the Peer Review Board.

Please note that the Peer Review Board proposes to organize training programmes for peer reviewers from the Eastern Region very soon in different places in the region.

I hereby request you to empanel with the Peer Review Board by filing the enclosed empanelment form and send it back to the Peer Review Board at its New Delhi Office to Ms Seema Gerotra, Secretary, Peer Review Board, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Post Box No. 7100, ICAI Bhawan, Indraprastha Marg, New Delhi – 110 002 email is peerreviewboard @ icai.org and/or seemag @ icai.org for your empanelment.

Once you receive confirmation from the Board of your empanelment, for further details on the training programme you may contact Ms Seema Gerotra, Secretary, Peer Review Board and also send the remittance of Rs.1000/- as training fees for the programme. The Council of ICAI accepted the recommendation of SEBI that for appointment as an auditor of listed companies for accounting periods commencing on or after April 1, 2009 the auditor Firms/Practice Units must have a certificate from the Peer Review Board of the Institute. Further, the Council also accepted the recommendation of SEBI that the financial statement of an unlisted company coming out with an initial public offer (IPO) should also be certified by the Audit Firms/Practice Units who have been issued a Certificate from the Peer Review Board.
