Efiling does not have aadhaar otp system

Have written email to the department. I hate when bureaucracy executive takes one sided decision to stop something that existed without proper notification. We are not in Mughal era, we are in democracy and they can publicise such decisions before implementing. They have to let people know why they took such decision.

Finally was able to do eVerification of return today using Aadhaar OTP. Dont know how long it will work.

Already heard that the ITR efiling date may get extended by 2 weeks as it is the industry demand.

Lets hope for the best.

The Finance Ministry, in a statement today evening said that the new income tax return forms were notified early in April and taxpayers (whose accounts are not liable for audit) were allowed to e-file their ITRs till July 31. It added, "Upon consideration of the matter, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) extends the 'due date' for filing of Income Tax Returns from July 31, 2018 to August 31, 2018 in respect of the said categories of taxpayers."

I have also noticed same frequently, its just a technical issue on Income Tax Portal. But after a while everything returns to normal. Day before yesterday rectification option was not available.
