If your e-way bill expires while goods are in transit, you have a couple of options. You can try to extend the validity of the existing e-way bill if there's still time. Alternatively, you will need to generate a new e-way bill, which may require a new invoice number if the portal doesn't allow regeneration with the same details. It's also possible for the purchaser to generate an e-way bill from inward supply.
