You should prepare debit/credit note for goods return. Using this details of debit or credit note generate Eway bill.

Yes, e-way bill is required to be generated for any movement of goods. Therefore, the same holds true even in the case of return of goods. In sales return, e-way bill would be generated by the person who is causing movement of such sales return or the transporter who is actually moving the goods with relevant document like a Credit Note.
