Hi Rajat,

Sorry to hear about the health issues and the trouble with the e-proceedings portal. Here’s a step-by-step suggestion on how to handle this:

1. Immediate Action for Adjournment Request:

  • Since the adjournment request was mistakenly uploaded in the wrong section, you should send a written communication (email/fax/physical letter) to the Assessing Officer (AO) or the jurisdictional Income Tax Officer explaining the situation clearly, including the medical condition of the assessee and the mistake made.

  • Attach relevant medical documents or hospital records as proof.

  • Keep proof of delivery or acknowledgement of the communication.

2. Follow Up on Grievance:

  • If the grievance filed on the e-filing portal hasn’t received a response, follow it up again through:

3. Filing Reply:

  • Since you are unable to upload reply under the correct head, try the following:

    • Clear browser cache or try a different browser.

    • Try uploading the reply again under the correct section once you get access or after grievance redressal.

    • Alternatively, you can send a physical reply to AO by speed post with acknowledgment.

4. Request for Extension:

  • In your written communication, request a formal extension of time to file the reply due to the medical emergency and technical issue faced.

5. Keep Records:

  • Maintain copies/screenshots of all communications, submissions, grievances, and medical documents for your records.
