E Invoicing incase of Export Invoice

Import / Export 238 views 8 replies

Hello I'm a seafood exporter, I recently found myself in a situation where I needed to submit a commercial invoice on a Friday in order to file a shipping bill with customs. The purpose was to secure a container slot on a Monday NVOCC steamer, which would transport the container to the mother port. Consequently, the container would only leave my factory premises on Monday morning.

In this case, I have a couple of questions:

  1. After entering the commercial invoice on Friday, do I also need to generate the e-invoice on the same day or can i generate on monday ?
  2. Is there a specific time window for generating the e-way bill once the e-invoice has been filed?

WHAT ARE THE SUPPLIES COVERED UNDER E-INVOICING?

e-Invoicing currently applies to-

  • Supplies to registered persons (i.e., B2B supplies),
  • Supplies to SEZs developers (with/without payment of tax),
  • Exports (with/without payment of tax), and
  • Deemed exports,

that are made by the notified class of taxpayers. It does not cover Free Trade & Warehousing Zones (FTWZ), import transactions, input service distributors, high sea sales and bonded warehouse sales. The exemption is with respect to entity and not transaction.

Does than mean i can print export invoice on 22nd and e invoice on 24th when goods are removed.
