For  existing service tax assessee will get mail from the department of user name and password to given mail id while registering to service tax...

there is a form on service tax site........... fill that form and courier it/submit it by hand/post it....... and thereafter you would be able to file service tax return or e-payment of service tax..........

you have to file an application to the commissioner requesting for user name & Password for E filling service tax return. They will send user name & password on your e-mail address mentioned in application after that you can access aces.gov.in.It is fully operational.

Yeah they are absolutely right ... U need to fill the form refferred as Annexure- A on the www.cbec.gov.in and apply to the commissionerate and thereafter you will be assigned a userid as the PAN of the Service Tax assessee.. and the password you desire...

After getting the userid and password you can fle the return by filling it online without much manual work and validating it...
