Hi Friends,

I want to know whether donation made in the name of the childrens which are eligible for 80G can be claimed by the parents.

Whenever a payment is in the name of Mr x and you want to claim that actually it was paid by Mr Y , the burden of proof is on you..........you can easily discharge the burden if the payment is made by cheque issued by mr Y

yes, definately you can claim your donation u/s 80g when the payment is made by you whether it is on your name or any other name. but the proff of 80g donation must be proved by you.

if your chidrens income is added in your income then you will get deduction u/s 80g otherwise you will give proof of donation and supported documents are to be made available why you are given donation in your minors name
