Does colour of the skin decide your fate?

In india there is one kind of racial discrimination in the society where white colour is prefered to black colour.

We can see this in various matrimonial columns where the person prefers his/her wannabe to be very fair and beautiful.

Is beauty really skin deep. White colour of the skin is looked upon as though it is something greater.

some cosmetic companies are encashing on this sentiment and promising the user of their product that their colour of their  skin would get fairer and they would be glooming with confidence which may not be the case.

In some ads of these cosmetics companies they go to the extent of showing that by just by using their product alone they get a job since their colour of the skin become brighter/ fairer as they cliam to be.While before using the product that person would have got rejected from that job and after using the product the person's colour of the skin changes and the person is considered more confident just becuase the person's colour of the skin has changed. will colour of the skin change the confidence or intellectual capacity of the person. Was Mahatma Gandhi’s confidence anything lesser just because his colour of the skin was not white. He fought against apartheid in south Africa. What do these companies have to say for that? There are many black people who are more intelligent than white people in the world.

Apart from the Ads which are purely aimed at commercial gains of the company which gives such Ads, the view is just a reflection of the society in which we are living in. Whether a person’s skin colour changes after using such a product or not, they are using the sentiment which is very much apparent to their advantage.

In India there is this social stigma that only white/ fair colour of the skin makes a person beautiful and intelligent.

Do we need to encourage such a culture where colour of the skin decides your fate?
