Does articleship experience matter for job?

I am into my 3rd Year of articleship and from the experience i have received in the past 2 years i,m not sure whether i will get a job in the Corporate Sector.

I have done Tax Audits (Mainly Partnership firms and Proprietorship Firms), VAT Audits, Service Tax Returns, TDS Returns, VAT Returns,Bank Audits (Concurrent as well as Statutory), Stock Audits and Government Audits.

I just dont feel i have enough experience to get a job in the Corporate Sector. Like i have not done a single Internal Audit. Since Mine is a medium size firm i wont be able to get much more experience than this in the 3rd year also.

I dont have any knowledge about SAP, Internal Audit Procedures as well as Finance Matters of a Company.Also i have not done any Excise Related Matters.

So i would like to know whether Articleship Experience is a big factor during Job Interviews and if tats the case Can any1 suggest me what can i do?

And i know Industrial Training is an option but my Principal is Strictly against it.

Duh,, Just focus on getting Degree now,,

Trust me once you get The degree,, u'll find many corporates willing to give you training on job or if not ,, once u get the degree u can train at any CA firm for 6 months or more to get Experience,,,

So Just Chill out,, And Start Studying...

Can you elaborate on the Post Qualification Expereince. So do you mean that it is difficult for a fresher to get a job in corporate sector

The Articleship experience gets taken in consideration for the first Job that you will get. For all others' your post qualifacation will matter more.

Also, corporates today don't look for a CA who had it all in his Articleship. The First Job is about ability to learn sincerly and put in extra efforts to kick start. What they look for in Articleship is how you did in terms of your ability to grasp and acquire knowledge, work hard, put extra hours, taking initiative, team work, etc.

My advice- Don't sweat over mid sized firm experience. On the contrary, that's the best you can have. If you are in a BIG firm, you will get experience only in name, not in reality.

Knowledge is an Ocean and you just cant fill all of it in your bucket!!

First, Congrats!! You have gained enough experience as you mentioned.

Second, Don't just panic over not doing Internal Audits. Coz Internal Audit is mostly similar to Stat Audit + Tax Audit.

As you are heading your attempt soon, just focus on being a CA first.

Coz Its not only Internal Auditor any corporate want, but they want a CA!!

I have done my articleship from a small firm in a small city and there are not any company related work and i haven't got any exposure in audit related work as such works are usually carried on by senior staff and he hardly tends to share his ideas,the firm usually had individual and firm related work but i have done some bank audits.During articleship period my experience is not too good as i am not provided with oppurtunity to handle the works.Kindly tell me what should i do and whether i would be eligible for campus interview as i dont have much knowledge about corporates.
